Migration card

Upon entry to Russia you will be given a migration card, which is usually given to passengers on in­coming flights while passing through a passport control.

No matter how old the US Citizen is, he/she will get a migration card. So, remember that you will get one.

What does it look like?
Here is the sample of it.

You must keep the migration card during all your stay in Russia and present it to the passport control upon departure. You will be given a new migration card upon your next entry to the country.

Section A is taken by the migration of­ficial when you enter Russia and section В is given back to you. It will be taken away from when you are leaving the country.

I strongly recommend that you make photocopy of your migration card in case you lose it. However, try not to lose your migration card. It is an important document.


How do I complete Migration Card?
Fill out two identical sections (A and B) of the migration card. The card should be completed using an ink pen without corrections in Russian or English block letters according to your travel document data. Indicate gender in the corresponding column with an "X". Please be sure to indicate the inviting party and the duration of the stay as stated on your current visa.

Men will mark Male, women will mark Female option.
Your passport serial number.
Your nationality. American,
Your purpose of visit.
Usually those that come with gray passport, namely those in whose visa “Official Visit” is written.
Commercial Visa. If you come to fairs or commercial interview. Namely those in whose visas are written “Commercial” or “ Business”.
If you come for study... please choose education.
Private visa. If an individual has invited you, you can mark here.
If you come with touristic purpose...
Transit... This is for those who has to stay for a while in Moscow to go to somewhere else.
The name of company, person or institution that invited you. For example OOO “Wheel“.
Your duration of stay.
Date when you made entry
Expiry date of your visa
Your signature
Official authority will fill, leave it blank.
